London Sightseeing

We're back from our glorious vacation in London! I didn't do any posting whist we were there because the internet wasn't free. (London is apparently the fifth most expensive city in the world.)

The first two days were spent doing full-on sightseeing stuff. We went to see the houses of parliment, Big Ben, etc. It was really crowded so we bailed pretty quickly. The only items of interest that we missed were the guys in the red suits who don't move (guarding the Queen's jewels?). It's nice to see that stuff but then again you just look at it for a bit and then move along.

The next move was to board a boat and go down the river Thames. That was pretty nice. Here are Rae and I floating along with the London Bridge in the background. Note the bonnet.

A lot of history took place along the Thames: Roman invasions, Viking invasions, and now lots of expensive real estate. Here's a shot of the Globe Theatre, where Shakespeare plays were originally performed.

Will do! I'm off to Los Angeles on Sunday for a conference. My talk is on Monday, so after that I will have time to post some more England stuff.

I heard your poor computer is a dud. Is that why you have ceased the blogging activity?
